In her book “The Good News About Bad Behavior,” Kathryn Reynolds boils the behavior crisis down to 3 main issues:
- Where, how and how much kids are allowed to play had changed from when the parents were children
- Access to tech and social media have exploded, which is completely different than when current parents were kids with emerging tech.
- Children of all ages are too “unemployed,” there are things we all need to do as a part of our communities and social groups.
I read a lot of parenting stuff, this is the best stuff I’ve seen in a LONG time.
For me these three items were not so much, here is what used to happen and we need to do more of it. I was more, here is what has changed, we need to adapt our parenting style to meet the current environment.
